The Battleground: Harvey Dunn, 1928

The restoration

The painting

Through generous support by South Dakota State University, the Museum has undertaken the project of evaluating and stabilizing all of the works by Harvey Dunn.

A total of ninety-one paintings will be evaluated and treated over the next four years. The total project is expected to cost $118,200 with 50% of the support provided by the University and 50% raised through donations and proceeds from reproductions available in the Museum Store. The Museum is confident that the works by Harvey Dunn will be in a condition that will ensure their availability to the public for generations to come.

If you are interested in supporting the project or would like to sponsor a specific painting, please contact Lynn Verschoor at 605-688-4279 for more information.

The Museum is very appreciative of both the University’s commitment to the Museum’s mission and to the private donors who have generously offered to help with this project.
